Richard Diebenkorn :: The Green
Green is my least favorite color to use. I subconsciously avoid it. Or maybe on purpose.
There is this saying between watercolorists that you shouldn’t use green out of the palette, especially in your nature pieces. I’ve known that for a very long time and maybe that’s the reason behind my difficult relationship with green.
Why featuring Richard Diebenkorn? Mainly because he’s a genius when it comes to color and composition. First and foremost I’m in love with his Cityscape I, 1966 painting and the green he’s using. Delicious.
