Quick update.
I got an interesting email asking me why I don’t link my blog to my main website ( no menu bar ).
Well, the answer is—I do link only through the logo, but since this website is going to be redesign soon, I don’t want to make my blog the main focus.
There is no serious push for directing people to the blog and vice versa.
I do love to hear comments regarding the portfolio, that is getting a soon update as well!

Kindle Or Not Kindle.

There is a big discussion about the future of print and printed books. Newsweek says books are not going to die, they will just go digital.

Fine. Maybe. But what about the future of BOOK/BOOK COVERS design ?

Charles Brock is a book cover designer and the Creative Director/Principal of The DesginWorks Group. He is also co-founder of FaceOut Books.com. His designs have been recognized by National Advertising Federation, AAUP, Graphis, Bookbuilders West and Communication Arts magazine.

His presentation during the AIGA Make Think 2009 is quite brutal.

We know that Steven King and Seth Godin love Kindle. And my best friend travels with tons of books that weight 10.3 ounces.

This video below states a question — whose life/work gets more complicated while somebody else’s gets easier.

I hope the boys didn’t destroy the real Kindle ( I have same hopes when I see cars and building exploding in teevee ).

But I get it. I love book covers. I want to see them in bookstores.

Si Scott — the Hand + Ink kinda guy.

My fascination with Si Scott is not too healthy. I love everything he did and I will love everything he is going to do. I know it. I can’t be objective anymore.

When I saw his lettering for the first time, I was sure he is using Illustrator or any kind of a vector software.

Discovering his way of drawing, watching videos and reading interviews with him left me breathless.

I love being breathless if the reason is such a excellency.

With Kerry Roper, he is also a part of WE ARE BITCH.
